Step 09 - the art fair that's a step ahead

you ever been to an art fair?
for us yesterday was the first time we went to visit the 09 Step inside the museum of science and technology Milan.

Step09 is a format in which interdisciplinary contemporary art, live act, music culture and sharing the same stage, offering the public a unique experience in the world of exhibitions and art fairs. Born from the need to provide a gallery of vividly unconventional context to present their works to the public as much as that of the collectors are just curious, after the baptism of last year Step09 prepares to take another "step" forward in terms quality and richness of the proposals, opening the doors to international projects and carving out a space so more and more influential in the calendar of artistic events from "not to be missed."

It 's a very high-sounding show! They have lived up to expectations?

I repeat, for us it was the first art fair, so we can not make comparisons.
Two questions, however, we do them: the context was vividly unconventional ? Not really. The various proposals were ? Yes. Rich? Do not overdo it, come on.
use the term "interdisciplinary format" seems to me a forcing, since there were 12 thousand square 6 thousand photographs, some sculpture, installations and a few couple of guys that played contemporary music.

But the thing that shocked me most and that has humbled my romantic soul, was to see the art commodified .
clear, I am collaborating with an association that deals with contemporary art. All do except admire the paintings sighed languidly sweet melancholy phrases. I am in contact with dealers, collectors, art broker. But come to a show and admire them. Think and say things like: "Beautiful, ugly, well done, poorly done, disgusting, funny" . The price of the counts, but it is estimated only at a later time.

In a fair prices are anything but hidden. You start thinking things like: what artist meets the best value for money? If I wait a bit 'to buy the prices go up too? If the coefficient is 4.5 as of this painter will be worth in two years?
I had no money to spend. I was there to learn about this new world, to know some emerging but, above all, admire works of art.
There are successful.
I have not enjoyed anything, I could only think " This picture is worth 2200 euro? This? THIS?"
