as the worst film by Salvatores, four quasi-forties decide to make a gypsy European mega rock festival, just to see if there are still the to make gggiovani. After dozens of emails to define the date and place (in the end all you work and take three out of four family), the choice fell on Dour, Belgium, festival unknown to us but it seems very important and, above all, "Alternative"! Meeting in Charleroi, the rental car (Mercedes Class A, when I really had booked a Skoda ..), and departure. With the Mercedes arrived at the site, lost amidst the Belgian countryside and enter. I start by dragging the trolley (see picture), such as business travel, among like-Punkabbestia obviously filthy and ovviamennte equipped with backpack and sleeping bag .. French reggae band from Denmark suggested that apparently took a long time to do pre-listening to different groups (:-)) and will be for Charon almost daily ferries to and fro .. saw it right this time, the concert is tough, reggae / ragamuffin pretty pissed off, result in delirium. The feeling of being in one of the many evenings spent with Leoncavallo and is a feeling very positive! After that, we are divided: three of them to see Rinocerose , I got the nostalgia, I go by Killing Joke, where I am by birth more comfortable, nearly forty-fifty among many .. I find the stage of walking corpses (and in part they are) and yet still sound good .. And then, to hear (finally) live "The Wait" and especially "Love Like Blood" was quite exciting. At the bottom with 'this stuff I grew up! (Return to Italy to discover that the stage of Rinocerose but they were not in place of djs ... none of them had noticed ...). But we are still early in the evening ... After a portion of french fries and beer, it's up to Animal Collective . And here's my fault. In short, they are acclaimed by magazines (of which I eat for years), I had heard them just recently ... Ma. are really unsustainable! A kind of yodel on a mail (?) Ultra Pallosa ... mass of people rushed in with a lot of leaves us after 10 minutes .... At this point there is to wait for Fuck Buttons, which should start at 1:30 (I have the body in three hours of sleep the night before). A detour back to the tent of reggae and I assume a few beers to pass the time. Lorenzo and Dani give. I remain stoically and Raffa. The concert, we see half an hour then fall down, is excellent.
They have two children (Bristol, then find out) that trying to break the machines, one of them occasionally yelling something into a microphone with voice filtered (such as Lightning Bolt). BitDownloader a bit ' tribal, a little 'melodic' ... We can think of Mogwai. However, we go to bed happy but destroyed (at least I do not know Raffa). I am unable to lose yourself in the crowd in return to Festihut being invested by the only real downpour of three days, and falls destroyed, happy and ... wet. On Saturday morning, first of all go to town (in a Mercedes of course) to try to eat something other than french fries. Then, thanks to Dani, we see the Dodos , indie-pop without infamy and without praise, we live to see the end of the concert Alborosie and here, in hindsight, I think we made an error. I mean it was better to come and see Alborosie, also because there is a terrible crowd, cheering and smoking, and I sense the whole concert atmosphere was great .. In the evening, including a potato fried and the other, we see the Roots Manuva. I have not seen many hip hop concerts in my life, but these are great, very different. Public into a frenzy. However, the highlight comes at the end of the evening on the main stage with the Pet Shop Boys ! Now, I confess, I liked them. I mean, pop ultra, ultra professional, with choreography, dancers, etc.. but in fact very well packaged. And then with finalone with "West End Girls" how can you resist ... Do not pay, we move one of the other tents that have been made to turn everything into nightclubs techno .. We dance a little ', not so that I am dead, and then we retire to our luxurious accommodation (this time without showers). Sunday, the last day. The conditions hygiene of the place of the undersigned and are rapidly deteriorating, but will not give up. As usual, breakfast / lunch in the civilized world, in this case in a village near Dour. Return to the festival in the early afternoon nap. That is, they make the nap, I'll try the 17 failing and I'm going to see An Albatross . I must have read some good review, I do not remember. The concert is really disgusting. A singer Iggy Pop loser, timbre zeppelliniano, hair long and smooth and bare-chested on the basis that she wiggles psichedelicorumoroseprogressivemetal .. in short, that originality! Luckily we go to 18 (then reappears Dani) to see the Experimental Tropic Blues Band , suggested by Dani-Charon always .. What can I say? Rock'n'roll crazy, like the Blues Explosion volumes of good times, cover of Cramps and Gun Club (just to see what areas we are in) .. based on sound effects and final nude, that is, with the bassist as he did the mother who beat his pea jack with the guitar feedback contributing to the final. Yeah! At this point, pause, based on beer and junk food of course, wait for the tour de force evening (we see a piece of Israel Vibration, but seems to come out temporarily from the hospice). So let's start with The Horrors . They are one of the last British goods, in fact, have some nice piece, though not even talk about originality. A little 'Echo and the Bunnymen, a little Jesus and Mary Chain, a bit 'all that comes to mind, so we guess. Following Caribou. 
This however is an example of how, without being particularly original, you can still make good music. A little 'psychedelic, a little' post rock, still very interesting. of 5 Elements of Hip Hop (which I think is a training tank), regretfully, we can see only the beginning of the performance, that is, Mixmaster Mike of the Beastie Boys to fear from scratch (already seen him do awesome things to the concert of BB in Milan a few years ago ..). At this point we believe dirigamo and see compact Boss Hog's Cristina Martinez and Jon Spencer. Have aged quite a bit 'but always split. In fact, I seem in some ways even more energy than when I had seen them a dozen years ago. She is decidedly less sexy, but that's okay. Too bad there were not many people apparently have gone a bit 'fashion ...
Grand Final main arena with Aphex Twin. Thousands of people throw the last bit of energy (I guess in large part due to some additive) in techno (?) By Richard James, almost invisible (at least from where we are) to its console. The other three give, I'll stay until the end, just to wait until the end of the concert, and switch on the lights and on .... silence.
